Privacy policy
LifeTrace.pro is a personal website operated by Ryan from Singapore. This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Who operates this site
The data controller for LifeTrace.pro is Ryan, reachable at [email protected]. Postal address: Blk 130 Bukit Batok West Avenue 6, #03-40, Singapore 650130. Telephone: +65 6228 4358.
This is not a commercial platform. It does not sell products, run paid memberships, or operate advertising networks. Processing is limited to running the site, understanding readership at a general level, and responding to messages you choose to send.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, optional subject line, message content, and confirmation that you consent to processing. The consent checkbox is not pre-selected; submission requires an active choice.
Technical information. Like most websites, the hosting environment may automatically log standard server data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages requested, and timestamps. These logs help maintain security and diagnose errors.
Cookie and local storage data. If you interact with the cookie banner, your preference (accept, reject, or customised analytics choice) is stored locally in your browser via localStorage under the key lifetrace_consent. This avoids showing the banner on every visit.
Analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies (or enable them through Customise) might anonymised or aggregated usage statistics be collected to understand which entries are read. Rejecting analytics limits collection to essential operation only.
4. How information is used
Contact form data is used solely to read and reply to your message. Email submissions are forwarded to the site operator’s designated inbox for correspondence handling.
Server logs are used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting failed requests. They are not used to build marketing profiles.
Aggregated analytics, when enabled, inform editorial decisions — for example, whether long-form witness notes are being found — without identifying you by name unless you also write in via the contact form.
5. Legal basis and consent
Where Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies, processing is based on: (a) your consent when you submit the contact form or accept non-essential cookies; (b) legitimate interests in operating and securing a personal website, balanced against your rights; and (c) legal obligations if required to retain or disclose information under applicable law.
You may withdraw consent for optional analytics by rejecting cookies or clearing stored preferences. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
7. Data retention
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence — typically up to twenty-four months unless a longer period is required for dispute resolution.
Server logs rotate on a schedule determined by the hosting provider, often between thirty and ninety days.
Cookie consent records in localStorage persist until you clear them manually.
8. Security measures
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied: HTTPS in production, input validation on form submissions, and limited access to mailboxes handling visitor messages. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; please avoid sending sensitive identifiers or financial details through the contact form.
9. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data Ryan holds about you, subject to legal exceptions. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing and ask how your data has been used in the previous year.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with enough detail to locate your record. A response will be provided within a reasonable period.
10. Children
LifeTrace is written for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children under thirteen. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the contact form, notify the operator so the information can be removed promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when practices change or when law requires. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect revisions. Continued use after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised policy for non-material changes; material changes will be highlighted on this page.
12. Contact for privacy matters
Questions about this policy or how your data is handled may be sent to [email protected] or via the contact form. If you remain unsatisfied after contacting the operator, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.
